so, today i opened a diary land account. no one knows why. i think it will be good, though. hopefully i'll become more introspective, take more care to notice things.

today was sort of intense. i told marianne that i found another job, but that i had found somebody else to replace me there. it was really hard to do, because i respect and like her so much. i could tell that she was upset, even though the replacement that i found sounds completely ideal.

she told me that she's incredibly particular about who she allows her children to be influenced by, and that she appreciated my character a great deal and trusted me to an extent that she doesn't even trust certain family members. this made my heart hurt, and it's only making this decision harder. i'm also going to miss the kids an insane amount. arrr. my hips are achey.

after work i hit the old caldwell thrift stores. i got so much stuff! at the pet haven i got:

-really awesome ballet type flats with two straps. 2.00

-an olive green knit skirt. 1.50

-a royal blue pleated skirt. 1.50

-a black knit a-line skirt. 1.50

-a pair of black pants. 2.00

-a red purse 2.00

-a soft blue t-shirt for noah. 1.50

-a pair of purple cable knit knee high socks. .25

-a brown pleated skirt. 1.50

-a really nice and thick thermal shirt. 1.00

-a red thermal shirt that says 'dance' three times.1.00

at the salvation army i got

-a red cotton skirt with sailboats around the hem. 2.00

-red knit leg warmers .98

-a really nice big silk scarf with a pretty pattern.1.00

all in all, 21.00 for all that booty.

i didn't need it though. 21 dollars is still 21 dollars and i have a problem. my closets are full to brimming.

when i left the salvation army, i saw the most awe-inspiring flock of birds. there was just an enormous amount of them. way too many for a certain formation, so they just looked like swarming bees. it was lovely. the wind would blow them back, and they all moved so fluidly together. i mean, the sky to me seemed black with birds flying south for the winter. i remember when i was young, i thought the whole 'flying south for the winter' thing was some large hoax, like the tooth fairy, because there were still birds hanging out here in the winter. 'south' to me was something like a club med for birds, and it definitely wasn't located in idaho. but now i know that we just have the canadian birds who visit us in the winter. it's nice of them, though we really don't have much to offer.

i'm going to try and accomplish some goals tonight. finish some knitting projects, stretch my muscles, read on one of the three books i'm working on. why don't i ever want to go out anymore on the weekends? time was, i went stir crazy at home on a friday night. i have the soul of a retired woman in my 19 year old body.

where's my piss, and where's my vinegar?
