2004-07-20 - 9:14 a.m. But how pleasant it was to grab a coffee treat with my friend, and laze in dog park, where there was a 1:1 dog:human ratio. And then when, with my other friend we met for hot dogs and joviality in the mild weather. Rachel left a message on my machine yesterday: "WAaayy, down upon the Swanee River...Rachael, how could you have never told me about that story?" which is in reference to the time that I was sleeping on the floor of a house in Moscow, ID. Elijah and the many others I shared that floor with, were startled awake by me singing the above strain in a sleepy vaudeville tone, comatose on my back. Which, if nothing else, is a testament to how much I love that song, however, I really have no memory of the blessed event. It's Eli's memory, not mine. Buckles and I ran into a perched cat yesterday, who implored us to stroke and adore him. Later, in the car, we talked about how we would like to regularly befriend him: I said "What would we name him.....Dapple." and Rebecca was just ready to say "Dale", which if we examine these words, we realize that they are, minus a douple p, the exact same word.
