I have always believed that I won't, but as I see my mom's steady descent(God love her), I classify it as legitimate concern. It's possible that the only way to dodge this fate is to remain childless. We children are the ones that transform people into parents; amped up husks of their former selves.
Please don't become cantankerous, mom. I love you the way you are now.
Please if anything let me turn into my Dad, who is turning into my Grandpa, for at least they hole up and keep to their despondent selves.
I truly fear this.
