i'm still glowing from the karl blau show tonight. he's such a special man and performer. i haven't been so moved by a set in a really long time.

tim andreae was playing when i got there. he's a special treat, every time. then otis and his band of girls played, and they were good. and then elijah and jeremy and i played. we decided to only play r heroz songs because elijah was leaving. the mood was really ripe tonight, there was a good turn out. i was feeling emotional from the get go, realizing this would be the last time in a really long time that we would play together. and when we were playing 'oh, captain.' my lower lip started quivering, and my eyes welled over and i kept fighting it, but when i had to sing the line ' and on his grave, you'll read the words...' my voice faltered and i couldn't finish the line. i cried in front of all those people. they were silent tears, but they were still visible tears. it was really intense and sort of embarrassing. i didn't know that elijah had noticed, because my keyboard was behind him, but at the end of the song he explained to the people that he was moving, and that we were all kind of emotional. he came to my microphone and we sang into eachother's faces 'friendshi-ip, friendship' safemen style. i didn't cry again, because the pressure to make sure that elijah doesn't feel guilty about moving looms over me, and is good enough reason to put on a supportive face. elijah played a song under the moniker 'the unicorn feather' which is his soul project. it was really awesome.

'the unicorn feather doesn't care about politics! the unicorn feather doesn't care about foreign trade or the state of the economy! but it's election day, and the unicorn feather votes for love, ya'll! elton, who do you vote for?' elton: 'l-o-v-e, baby!'

'GET YOUR GROOVE ON!'

lots of awesome stuff like that, and elijah impressed everybody with his insanely awesome and soulful dancing.

i saw a book at the library yesterday written by some cheesy humorist called:

'IF I EVER GET BACK TO GEORGIA, I'M NAILING MY FEET TO THE GROUND!'

i cursed the name of georgia underneath my breath and wished nothing but ill will towards all it's inhabitants. who needs georgia. georgia sucks my soul out through my nostrils. gerogia can suck on it.

people i noticed were there:

mom, noah, lindsey, kodee, lily. having family there is always special.

elijah's new friend erica. she seems nice.

ranbone, we talked for a bit, it was high time.

cherie took pictures, she's a cool girl.

the girl that plays drums with otis has the sweetest spirit. i need to find her name.

steve, he seemed distraught over the presence of his ex-girlfriend. i should call him.

elton is always so energetic. i love him.

rachel, she danced and was a sweetheart. what's new.

diana, she seems like the nicest dude. i want to hang out with her.

trevor, what's the dynamic between the two of us? do we dislike eachother? i can't tell.

aaron and loren are mellow and cool.

stephanie: sweet dude.

it's always nice to see people i don't recognize at these shows. that happened tonight.

and you thought you wouldn't use it.
